Look we live in a time where we have fitness trainers that talk about how to lose or gain weight, but it’s not too often that we get people talking about how to actually be consistent with your health journey.

Most people work full time jobs, it’s not always easy to just go to the gym, or make a full meal planned food.

Most people don’t track their calories either

However, there’s ways to actually be consistent with your health journey

So today I’m sharing 5 different tips to start your health journey

Be sure to check out my ebook on the 7 steps to living a healthy life as well

Go for a walk

This is arguably the easiest way to start some sort of physical activity

If you don’t work from home, you probably walk either to your car or to work to get to a transit system.

With this one, you simply walk around whether it be around the city or in nature.

I’ve been doing this for years and not only does it get me doing some activity…it also helps me mentally

If you’re struggling to exercise because you’re intimidated by the gym or maybe your body isn’t there just yet, going for a walk is a great way to get started.

It’s not the absolute solution but it gets you one step closer to being consistent with your health journey.

It also really helps with resetting and slowing things down.

Life gets hectic and sometimes it’s hard to just remove ourselves from it with social media, work and family obligations.

Going for walks can help just focus on something else.

Go for a walk with your spouse, kids, or friends.

Great way to start.

Drink more water (Replace your sugar drinks with water) – Keep a water bottle with you

Another underrated thing

There’s so many beverages out there to consume…let’s keep it simple.

There’s sugar everywhere, soft drinks are so easy to consume.

Staying hydrated is so underrated, many of us don’t drink enough water.

The way to drink more water is to actually keep a water bottle beside you so it makes it easier to drink it

What you’ll notice is your skin will start to clear up, but also you won’t experience the sugar or caffeine crash that you would experience if you drank something else.

Especially if it’s a hot day, water is essential.

I typically like to grab a water bottle that is insulated inside so that it stays cool.

Join a sports club / group gym

Do you ever meet that person who wasn’t as active before but then they join a martial arts or boxing gym, and all of a sudden you see them shadow boxing everywhere?

Joining a sports club or group gym is a great way to start because you’ll get some accountability, you’ll meet a new circle while staying fit.

Doing a boxing conditioning class with 8-10 other people will encourage you to keep going when it seems tough.

They’re not the cheapest option but there’s affordable options like spin classes or hit workouts.

You could also just start your own run club and get a group of people to start doing a workout with you.

Workout with a friend

This is how I started. I went with a friend that had more experience than me.

Exercising at a gym or even outside can be a little intimidating, especially when you don’t know what you’re doing just yet.

With a friend, you get the accountability as well as getting to learn how to do things the proper way.

You can do it with a friend or family member and watch as you start to get consistent with your routine.

Hire a coach

I also did this. I like to think of this as doing something short term for long term gains.

A coach can help you with accountability, a proper gameplan and also how to properly do an exercise.

Finding the right coach isn’t easy sometimes as everyone has their own way of doing things but I’m happy to assist in whatever way I can if you’re looking to get started.
