The Truth About Feeling Discouraged In Life

Look as I’m writing this, I’m not feeling the greatest.

Not because of anything with anyone but because I’m a little discouraged.

Sometimes we put in hours on hours into something only for nothing to come back.

You could be exercising for a while only to feel like you’re not getting progress you’re getting.

Or maybe you’re constantly getting rejected by potential partners and you’re fed up and feel like giving up.

Maybe your business or career feels like it’s not making any progress after months or even years of consistent work.

It’s normal to experience these things.

The only reason why it doesn’t seem like that is because everyone is posting their highlight reels on social media.

Although I’ve had a decent year getting married, travelling and actually finally having some direction on how I can make a full time living doing my own project starting with this blog…there’s been downs.

It’s been a down year overall personally career wise. I’ve taken some steps back in some projects, I’ve taken on some more temporary things that have taken my energy. And I’ve also haven’t been able to monetize on my personal project yet.

As a highly motivated person in general, I always want the best from myself.

I want to make a certain amount of money, I want to be able to take care of my family, I want to travel the world without feeling a financial restraint.

I’ve been telling myself that I want my championship win in my career.

I haven’t seen it yet in my career in a while.

I’m not happy not with what my career is, but I’m not happy with where I’m at in my career.

But I’m trusting the process.

At the start of the year, my net worth was quite high but it changed as I started to transition to other projects, getting married and travelling.

And although it’s discouraging now, it kind of reminds me that things can quickly change so make sure I take

That’s just how things work sometimes.

You’ll have up years and down years.

But understand that you just have to keep trying.

Where most people fail is they just stop trying when things don’t work out.

So I’m going to share some tips to just keep going when you’re feeling discouraged or when things don’t really seem promising.

How to handle this

Here are a few things to remind ourselves when we’re figuring out how to make things work properly.

Like I said, we all go through ups and downs, but there’s ways to properly handle these things.

Gratitude

When things don’t seem promising….sometimes it’s important to remind ourselves how far we’ve come

Here’s some personal wins I can even say for myself

  • I have my own blog
  • I have something to sell (Coaching, ebook coming soon, amazon affiliates)
  • I’m travelling multiple times this year
  • I’m in good shape, running 15km every week
  • I got married this year
  • My parents and grandparents are still alive
  • I enjoy what I do for a living
  • I work from home and on my own schedule (besides calls)
  • My part time job is flexible and works around my main work schedule

So it’s worth noting that things may not be the way I want in certain aspects of my life, there’s parts that are going really well. We all have things we can be grateful for.

We all have things to be grateful for.

I’m writing this right now on a beautiful summer day

Adjust the gameplan

I’ve been making youtube videos on my personal youtube account since 2016 and I still haven’t passed 400 subscribers….however I haven’t given up.

I always come back with a different approach. Whether it works or not, I will keep trying until I figure things out.

Where people go wrong is they completely give up when things don’t work out and they never ever revisit it again.

Maybe you won’t do that thing again, but you can evolve.

Find a new project, find a new job, adjust your health routine, move to a new city, go to an event, change up your scenery.

Anytime I’m feeling lost and confused, I go downtown in my city and I go to a coffee shop to get things done…

In fact, I’m at a coffee shop right now.

I’ve been feeling a little stuck the last week or two.

So I’m at a coffee shop, and I’ve gotten a lot done.

So I’m feeling good!

Sometimes you need that change of scenery to just have a new focus.

So maybe shake things up and try something different.

Prayer

No matter how much your life sucks….don’t ever abandon your 5 daily prayers.

Exercise

One of my number one tips to really get ahead is to just focus on yourself.

And one of the best ways to do this is by going to the gym.

Your body is a temple as many would say, but it’s also what keeps you going when you’re feeling down.

When you’re staying healthy, at least y

Journal

Take a break, write down how you’re feeling. I haven’t done this in a while, but I will usually do a brain dump where I put everything on my mind in paper.

What that does is it lets me clear my mind and really properly understand what’s really going on.

This blog has been helpful for me personally as well when it comes to writing down my thoughts.

So maybe take a piece of paper, buy a notebook or just use your notes on your phone and start writing down your thoughts

Reminders

You constantly need to remind yourself of these things

With this, I created a phone wallpaper pack for you guys to check out. I have a collection of different wallpapers that rotate on my phone just to keep myself reminded of different quotes, reminders and things that are special to me.

You can have your wallpapers rotate and change as your day goes on. It’s just a great way to stay refreshed and motivated during your day.

If you’re reading this, I’ll give you guys 20% off, just use the code “Discouraged” to get the code.

You’ll also get future access to any wallpapers I create in the future, whether it be for the phone or desktop (This will be a limited time)
